研究テーマ

過去には，光コンピューティング及び量子コンピューティング等の基礎研究，光通信，画像処理システムの研究を行う．
現在は，人間のコミュニケーションや表現を向上させるヒューマンコンピューターインターフェースの分野に広く興味を持つ．
研究成果を応用することでメディアアーティストとしての個人的な活動も行う．

略歴

1972年，ウルグアイのモンテビデオにて生まれる．
1991年，フランスで学士課程を開始し，フランスにおいて研究活動を行う奨学金を得る．
1996年，フランス パリのEcole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST)より工学修士の学位を取得．同年，University of Paris-XI/ENST/Ecole Polytechniqueより物理(レーザー，物質干渉)の博士課程を修了する．
2000年，画像処理における光電子確率的並列処理機構の研究成果によりUniversity of Paris-XI Orsayより博士号を取得する．
2001年，東京大学石川並木小室研究室にて特別研究員，助手として研究活動を行い，2006年より助教として研究室内のメタ・パーセプショングループの立ち上げ及び展開に積極的に取り組む．

メディアアーティストとして，第9回メディアアート芸術祭 アート部門 大賞，第13回メディアアート芸術祭 エンターテインメント部門 優秀賞, アルスエレクトロニカ2006 名誉表彰をはじめとして、いくつかの賞を受賞する．
