Concept

The Sound Tie is an electronic necktie reacting with ambient sounds. Those modified ties show the sound level on an integrated 10 level LED vu-meter.

Alpha prototype

The alpha prototype is the original model of sound tie. It is my "breadboard test tie". I already modified it several times and worked a lot on the power issue. The power supply evolved from a pack containing 3 AAA batteries that I kept in my pocket, to a simple AAA battery directly inserted inside the necktie.

Beta collection

The beta collection is the first limited handmade series of Sound Ties numbered from 1 to 9.
The electronic design changed again and a 3V button battery now powers the neckties.

Those neckties will be sold at "Make: Tokyo Meeting 04".
